What We Fund

The Helis Foundation Collection

The Helis Foundation Collection

The Helis Foundation has strategically acquired artwork to be a part of The Helis Foundation Collection. The Helis Foundation Collection is comprised of artwork owned by the Foundation and displayed in public view.

Many of the pieces can be seen along the Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition presented by The Helis Foundation in New Orleans’ Central Business District. Outside of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art you can find The Helis Foundation Collection’s first acquisition, James Surls’ “Me, Knife, Diamond, and Flower” (1999) and inside the museum you can see the Foundation’s most recent acquisition, “Scarab” (2015) by Louisiana native Lynda Benglis. The Ogden Museum is free and open to the public every Thursday courtesy of The Helis Foundation.

The Helis Foundation was proud to work with the family of noted Mexican-American sculpture Enrique Alférez to acquire an important collection of his work, now on display to the public at The Helis Foundation Enrique Alférez Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens, free and open to the public every Wednesday courtesy of The Helis Foundation.
